I am hoping like hell the team manages to stumble ass backwards into hiring Zimmer as head coach. Please do us a favor, Minnesota.

Hire Josh McDaniel and trade up to draft Dwayne Haskins.

    Seems too obvious to happen.

OK, so I made a lucky guess. Marvin is gone as I predicted. We can disagree on the reasons.

I’d be fine with Zimmer but outside of a last second miracle/Saints bonehead play I don’t see what he’s done in Minnesota to deem him the savior.

    A couple points...

Josh McDaniels is the Lane Kiffin of the NFL. And with how he treated the Colts situation last year, I don't see how any owner can trust him going forward. With that said, you know Belichick would never recommend McDaniels to ever take this gig since it's a franchise with a horrible track record in terms of ownership and McDaniels is the coach in waiting in New England.

Also, I'm not buying on the Haskins hype. I get many on here are Buckeye fans, so they're naturally inclined to think they'll translate well to the NFL, but I've seen nothing from Haskins that resembles a franchise, NFL-caliber quarterback.

By my count 25% of the league is now looking for a new coaching staff, 8 teams. That's a lot

    I’m hoping for neither.

Patriots assistants never pan out and Haskins has Akili Smith written all over him.

    I’ll pass.

Yup, and you wonder how many of those eight will simply shift chairs.

Man tough crowd if Haskins falls to the 11th pick I would give him some serious consideration...

He’s 47-32 as Vikings HC. They were 13-3 last season. He was one of the best D-coordinators this team ever had.

I don’t know if he’d be a savior, but he’s probably the best head coach candidate the Bengals could get and would likely target if he were available.

Is it the 70% completion percentage? The cannon for an arm? The quick release? The excellent ability to read opposing defenses? The breaking of pretty much all big ten single season QB records? The size?

    What a weird statement.

    Akili Smith?

Other than their skin color what similarities are there?

As Mr Jaguars here let me say I'll be surprised if he gets by Jags.

"Zimmer would be OK if Minnesota fires him." Uh, no.

Not accepting crap is what makes things get better. Accepting it perpetuates the problem. When fans finally stopped showing up, became apathetic, then Mike Brown became embarrassed. He has a lot of self-respect and paying customers is his gauge for measuring fan happiness. Whining doesn't matter. Empty seats do.

If Hue Jackson or Vance Joseph or another in-house name is made Head Coach, Mike Brown will base fans' acceptance of this decision by the number of empty seats.

    So, we'll see what happens.

I can set the bar high, where it should be, and not show up if I lived there, and still have a high opinion of Mike Brown and the efforts he's made over the last 15 years. I've never seen him as the problem. I've always seen the fans as the problem for accepting what he's given them. It even extended to the County Commissioners. Their noses were so brown for him and they bent over backwards to give him whatever he wanted. They screwed the County's Citizens and thought nothing of it because the fans accepted that, too. They re-elected them.

Don't blame Mike Brown for the Bengals' woes. It's always been the fans' fault.

Cool. I really am not surprised. Mike Brown does want to win.
In my opinion....1 of 2 things needs to happen for the Bengals to land a high quality coach. Either take a chance on an up and coming young guy(a la the Rams), or pay a ridiculous amount of money for an established guy.
