Former All-Star Dave May passed away today. *sigh* Long battle from diabetes and cancer. He was a favorite of mine from the early 70's brewers. RIP.

Kinda crazy but I actually just used Summers name to create a "fake" email account for playoff tickets a few weeks ago.
Champ got a very late start in baseball, not even playing in the minors until he was 25, due to his service in the Vietnam War, during the Tet Offensive.

I remember Champ well, he was a favorite of Sparky's with the Tigers.

    RIP, Champ Summers.

Been a while since anything has been posted here - must have been a healthy year for older ballplayers...

One-time Bosox and Brewers slugger George Scott died.

Always liked George Scott. Former Cubs pitcher Frank Castillo drowned over the week-end. He was only 44. RIP.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

I never saw Scott play much because he was in the AL but I always liked him. Big power hitter that came up with the Red Sox and played mostly with the Brewers,IIRC.

For Frank Castillo, I'm coming up a blank for him. I remember the name but that's about it. Just too many players to remember after follwong baseball for over 40 years.

Jerry Coleman has died. He was 89. He was a HOF broadcaster for the Padres. He was also a very good player for the Yankees in the 50's. Last but not least he was a very distinquished and decorated Marine during his time in WWII. RIP Jerry Coleman

He also came out of the broadcast booth and managed the Padres in 1980...

If any of you ever play Out of the Park, Jerry Coleman lines are one of the best things about the loading screens. The man said some funny stuff. My favorite is
"He hits his head on the wall. And now it's rolling towards the infield."

It's been a while since we've posted anything here. A friend posted this on Facebook today, from the Washington Post - Connie Merrero, oldest living MLB player died in Cuba, nearly 103 years old.

I liked this quote from Ted Williams: "That guy throws you everything except the ball!" - although Williams did alright against him putting up a .333/.450/.697/1.147 with three homers and three doubles in 33 AB's.
