I'm not saying this is the worst Reds offense I have ever seen.

But it is playing as badly as any Reds offense I have ever seen.

As Jay Bruce does his usual GABP home run upper cut swing that goes into short right field for the final out of the once promising inning.

Jay, I have two words for you. Line is the first word. Drive is the second.

He Walt, how about going out and signing some more right handed swing and miss hitters. We only have about 7 of them.
Be careful. I said this earlier. It may not be allowable to say on RZ.

God, this offense couldn't be going much worse, could it?

Nice production out of our 4 and 5 hitters. Seriously, is this rock bottom?

I never have been a fan of Dusty and have always thought he was a waste of money, especially for a small market team.

Walt came into this season with a black hole at 3B, LF, and CF. Jury is still out on Ludwick, but CF and 3B appears to be a serious issue. That's on Walt.

And Valdez and Harris on the bench don't make me feel all warm and fuzzy. Yeah, I know, they are just utility bench players.....until someone gets hurt and they are forced to play.

If you look at the box score, this game should be closer. The difference between Championship style confidence and a super slump. Good thing there is no way our offense stays at this team average of about .200 (if that). That would make this the worse turn around with pretty much the same lineup in MLB history. I want the trend to go the other way, not best to worst.

Sure feels like it. I hope it is, because I'd hate to see worse.

I feel somewhat guilty about accepting the compliment, but if the Reds can't hit, we have to make up our own fun, I suppose.

Was 2010 really that long ago?

You would think after several years Jay Bruce would stop with the upper cut swings that wind up being pops to short right field.

I haven't checked his line drive rate, but it isn't likely to be very high.

I honestly think GABP has destroyed Bruce's career. He seems to be constantly aiming for the short right field fence. Even when he isn't playing in Cincy.

I have no idea if Jacoby should be blamed or not, but how long does this guy last?

I wonder if he could learn to be a switch hitter still?
