Agree with you 100% KC. But pulling, or trying to pull a pitch that is outside the strike zone while you are off balance is a very bad approach.

Could be they said it was 98. I was surprised the roof was open tonight.

I bet it has something to do with the heat and him feeling some lingering flu effects. I hope that's all it is because that's much better than some type of injury.

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

Just the Reds luck. Man I hope it's nothing too serious.

This year is night and day different. This team, so far, has actually shown a baseball IQ. They throw to the right bases, hit cut off men, and hustle. Part of it is the emphasis on speed and agressiveness, part of it is the addition of Taveras, part of it is the loss of two larger, lumbering sluggers (not to mention their HR power) in place of speedier (though less powerful) alternatives.

    Refreshing to see.

Who is the "third" catcher if one was ever needed?

I am hoping it is dehydration and lingering effects from the flu he was dealing with over the weekend. It has been over 100 in Arizona since they got there.

He looked dizzy/sick and not injured -- didn't see him favoring anything, just moving slowly.

This is what Fay has on this so far:

The local TV showed Votto in the dugout wincing in pain after his last at-bat.

I think, in all seriousness, that it is Janish.
