You have to wonder how long Jake K. has in AA with a 25 year old Campbell pounding A+ pitching. After that, it gets crowded for Campbell with Frazier, Francisco and Rolen all ahead of him over the next X amount of years. His best shot is really to be a defensive standout while also pounding AA and AAA pitching this year.

I would think Jake would be looking over his shoulder at Henry Rodriguez more than Campbell.
I noticed he wasn't in Bakersfield's lineup tonight. I wonder if he got promoted to AA?

heard the attitude issue was based on a very heated argument he had with a lady in the Braves front office.... A little side note, our 3B men Rolen and Campbell went to rival high schools.
He also started last night for Carolina.
Just found on baseball-reference.com, that they have full league stats for the independent Northern League, which is where Eric Campbell played last season. Also of note, Ray Sadler and Christian Guerrero played in that league last year!

Very excited to see how he'll do with the Mudcats. If he can tear it up at the Double-A level, look out. Won't be easy though -- I don't think he's ever hit well above the A+ level.
I doubt this happens, but there is a chance he might get sent down on Friday when Costanzo is activated from the DL. Like I said, I doubt it, but that is one scenario.
Constanzo is two years older than Campbell. He's been to AAA and back. I like Costanzo but have to ask, how far are you willing to go with this guy?

Doesn't it seem strange that they would promote Campbell and then not play him (much) in Carolina? Makes me wonder if there's another move coming, like Costanzo to Louisville, which would in turn be linked to another, such as Francisco or Frazier to Cincinnati. Just trying to make sense of it.
It could be. But then again it couldn't be.
