    Monday 4/26/10 Minor League Updates

Just Louisville and Carolina playing today. Carolina is underway and already down 2-0 due to Mike Stanton's 3rd HR in the last 10 innings played. He may be the only guy in the minor leagues with more power than Juan Francisco and its showing up big time. Yonder Alonso is 1-1 and playing at 1B today. Curtis Partch is on the mound for Carolina.

Mike Stanton just went deep again. That is 4 HR's in the last 12 innings against the Mudcats for him.

Jacksonville is up 7-0 in the 3rd. They have scored 5 in the 3rd and haven't made an out yet.

FTR- Stanton now has 3 HR's in the game. And a walk. He needs to be in AAA yesterday.

The way Mike Stanton is hitting right now reminds me of Adam Dunn's 2001 season.

The way the system is losing games by the bunches--frankly, it's disheartening--lists like that are about all we have to hang our caps on. To me, the most promising item on there is Mesoraco's strikeout rate. Combined with his slugging, that's impressive. In fact, at this premature point, I'd say that Mesoraco is the leader for Organizational Player of the Year.

Valiquette and Klinker are the two arms worth talking about right now in Carolina. Valiquette has to be creating conversation upstairs.

That's more like it. 9 guys with a chance at a major league role at some point. Too baad there is no DH. Then Dorn could play and make it an even 10.
