Even with the walk, still no hits.

Is it time to start thinking about a "No-No?" Or do you wait another inning?

Since he is simply throwing what's called, that pitch selection on Francouer was on Bako or the bench.

Nevertheless, it is still interesting, in terms of hits allowed, and what not...

Aside from the obvious point of which I dare not speak, Cueto has thrown just 66 pitches through 5 innings. A CG is a possibility if he keeps it up.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

You do understand that if he gives up a hit, it is now YOUR FAULT!

    Way to go.

I will say this about Cueto's very uneven year, first game against D-backs, game at home against Cleveland, and now here, has carried lack of hit goodness fairly deep into three games this year. It's a reminder how ridiculously good his stuff is, and a measure of why it is well worth having him in the rotation...

    Re: Reds vs Braves 6/1/08

Interesting post from Homer Bailey about Cueto tipping his pitches.

Norton didn't pick up on it there. But he grips the ball with whatever pitch he is going to throw before it gets to the glove. It was very obvious on the change up he just threw.

Also, he is digging from the windup on his breaking ball, meaning it is obvious he is changing his grip from a normal fastball.

Maybe the Braves aren't picking up on it, but someone mentioned on here that maybe that is why he has been having trouble with men on base. Getting away with it today so far (through 5), but I think that this should be addressed. Watch for it.
Just something to keep an eye on.

Interesting. And something that I hope the coaching staff is aware of. That is fixable.
