Henry Rodriguez doubled on the next pitch to plate Burris. Bats up 2-0. Still batting.

Hamilton has stung the ball once, but it was caught.
Two bloops turned into doubles.
I continue to believe Hamilton will end up with a much higher slugging percentage largely because of the combination of his speed and aggressiveness. He uses his speed as a weapon better than anyone in the game, IMO.
I heard Hamilton has already stolen the base and was in the dugout before the pitch even crossed the plate. The pitcher, completely undone by the feat, threw an eephus pitch to the plate, completely ignoring Burriss, which allowed the former Giant to walk to second base while the catcher waited on the ball to come down.

Hamilton ropes one to LF for a single, then steals second base. His third hit and steal of the game and the season.
Yawn.

Anyone know what happened to Hamilton? Fellhauer pinch ran for him.

Interestingly, Pensacola has Bryson Smith hitting third. Part of that is that the Wahoos have a bunch of decent players but no great ones and someone has to hit third. But the other part may just be that the parent club likes the former Florida Gator.

Josh Smith fooling no one in two innings so far for Pensacola.
However, the Wahoos only trail by one, 1-0.
Donald Lutz, channeling his inner Billy Hamilton, bunts for a hit. Then, for good measure, he steals second base.
Thought this deserved its own update:
Donald Lutz, all 6'3, 250 of him, bunts for a single and then proceeds to steal second base. We've got Slidin' Billy, and now Truckin' Donald.
edit: Scrap beat me by a minute

bunt for a single and stole a base
what´s wrong with by big countryman?
The Blue Wahoos scrape by for two in the bottom of the second. Tucker Barnhart, hot for the first two days of the season, singled in one. Brodie Greene singled in the other.
Pensacola leads, 2-1.

Initial reports from Louisville are the Billy Hamilton injury is "nothing serious." Will be re-evaluated after the game.
