Great defense keeping the Reds in this one!

Feel like we've swapped third base coaches for a day.

I doubt it. Not in this era. One of the problems with the Reds is they don't seem to see that this is old school thinking.

Lots of great pitching in baseball. It's not enough to prevent runs today.

Key is to be one of the few teams with an effective offense in ADDITION to run prevention.

I suspect that if you review the past season, our miserable middle relief, Homer's inconsistency and Cingrani's problems, have hurt us as much as lack of offense. Hoover/Cingrani aren't 3-13 because of bad offense.

with better offence the w-l record would be (perhaps) better though. a long time the pitching was harder to get than offence, the past few years the pitching got better and the offence worse. you need both to win (in the hitter era good pitching was harder to get and therefore more valuable)

When Jay slumps he doesn't mess around -- good thing he's helped save two runs

Even the "Jay will never hit" post doesn't work.
