probably true, I pointed out a number of weeks back that he is a more likely candidate to pitch well than Saarloos.

I have little doubt that 2-3 starters that begin at AAA will be needed.

Santos is positively Ricardo Jordanesque this spring.

Vic's better than Josias "Gonads" Manzanillo, though

You shower him with faint praise.

The Mets used 13 different starters last year and they won 11 more games than anyone in the National League.

Many will be starting this year before it's all over.

Yeah, the name Manzanillo definitely comes to mind when I think of Santos.

hmm... why even invite him to spring training then, if he is going to have a 0 ERA and still not make the team.

    Seems kinda pointless

I've kind of wondered that too.

Maybe it's like Phoenix summers--it's not *really* a 0.00 ERA because it's a dry ERA.

I think I've seen her, in one of those special films.

The weatherman was wrong. Phoenix Summers wasn't dry at all.

Could it be that most of that result is in mop up duty against AA talent? Or maybe that he has done nothing at the major league level previously to warrant first shot at this? Send him to L'ville for some burgoo and coaching up and see where things stand if/when Miltie gets shelled or Lohse's arm falls off.
