Ugueth Urbina is out of prison and wants a job

    http://www.redszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55956

^ I'd top this thread but it was from back when the ORG folk could post in the Sun Deck.

According to the Associated Press, Ugueth Urbina is hoping to return to major league baseball.
Urbina, 38, was released from prison Sunday after serving roughly half of his 14-year sentence for attempted murder. He's expected to pitch in Venezuela this winter, but remains doubtful to make a comeback. Urbina hasn't appeared in majors since 2005. He owns a career 3.45 ERA over 11 seasons.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I hear there's several teams in the California Penal League looking for a closer.

Hey, it worked for Ricky Vaughn.

Ron Leflore says give the guy a second chance.
"This isn’t stats vs scouts - this is stats and scouts working together, building an organization that blends the best of both worlds. This is the blueprint for how a baseball organization should be run. And, whether the baseball men of the 20th century like it or not, this is where baseball is going."---Dave Cameron, U.S.S. Bobby Abreu says that despite what he did, he is a stand up guy.

Bobby Abreu should have really thought that through before he said it out loud.

Maybe a new position of "brawler" can be created. Mayhem breaks out and Urbina joins the melee with a nasty look in his eye and hidden weapons. He could get tips from Juan Marichal.
It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...

I remember having him on a fantasy team. I haven't had a fantasy team in over 10 years.

He'd be a killer setup man (or at least he'd attempt to be).

He and Simon could sit in the pen all season and argue about which one is the more maniacal homicidal maniac.
