Very surprised he was not more successful. I thought he was going to do great things @Arky.

Sorry to hear that. I like Pelphrey. I hope he gets another legit chance at coaching and isn't back in a mid-major or lesser conference for the rest of his career.
Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

He always recruited well, just could never get over that proverbial hump. I like Pelph too and hope he lands on his feet.

I could see him winding up in the rumored opening at Georgia Tech.
That's not just a rumor. Hewitt's gone.

I see Buzz Williams to Arkansas. Scott Drew to Ga Tech. Crazy, I know.
When all is said and done more is said than done.
Buzz Williams is supposedly a candidate from Texas Tech and he and his wife are from Texas. He could be a more sober candidate than Billy the Clyde.
I can't see Arkansas firing Pelphrey though unless they were going to make a serious run at Mike Anderson. Former Nolan Richardson assistant and has been pretty decent at Missouri. It makes too much sense.
I've heard rumblings that Utah is interested in Pelphrey. It sucks that he got canned after landing the #3 or 4 recruiting class in the nation for next year, but honestly, they've been trying to run him out of Fayetteville since he got there. He's a great guy, and coach, and will land on his feet somewhere.
I think Arkansas has wanted Mike Anderson almost since they hired Pelphrey. Pelphrey was a second choice hire for Arkansas. They had hired Dana Altman but he backed out after one day on the job. So I think Pelphrey was in bad situation from the start. I believe though he may have to go back to the mid major level and work his way back though.

Capel now out at Oklahoma.
Providence, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Texas Tech and probably NC State. Anyone I'm missing?

I was looking at getting tickets to a UK game next season. This might be the one.
He's denying it now.
