    Where Is Sean Casey??

Forgive me for perhaps being "asleep at the wheel"... but who does he play for now? I thought it was the Tigers, but he's not listed on their 40-man or depth chart.

Sean / Shawn... neither one is listed on the Tigers roster... perhaps he is a free agent.

He is a Free Agent. After the 2006 season the Tigers signed him to a one year deal only. Last I heard the Tigers had interest in playing Guillen at firstbase.

Why would we need Casey when we have Hatteberg?

    Re: Where Is Sean Casey??

I can easily see Casey back here eventually. Sooner, if they trade Hatteberg. But very possibly in 2009 if he signs a one year deal to DH somewhere.

His contract simply got too large to justify him as a Red a few years ago, but for a reasonable amount, he would be a great lefty off the bench, an amazing influence on the young guys (and specifically someone like JHamilton) and a key PR tool for the club to reconnect with lost fans.

The question is whether he's at that stage in his career to not be a full-timer. I guess he'll know based on offers he gets this winter.
