Robinson is still on the roster.

Unfortunately, he has an unspecified condition that prevents him from batting from one side, and the manager won't allow him to hit from the other.

But if Corky Miller can get on base when the Reds are losing late...I think he's the PR.

That condition is called "I Can't Hit." He has a career .645 OPS in the minor leagues. He isn't going to all of the sudden turn into a good hitter against big league pitching.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

We need three catchers, like in the good 'ol Narron days.

I'm not pushing for D-Rob to start over Paul...or even over Lutz....yet.

I do think he's a useful piece and that he's only 25 and could improve. His 0.423 OBP looks nice, and I'd much rather see him hitting second than Cozart. Much less likely to GIDP with Choo on first.

I know it's another thread but that just aggravates the hell out of me. Choo on first opens the 2B hole for a LHH. Even if Robinson forces Choo at 2B with a GO, we still have excellent speed on 1B.

And Raisor would approve of that. So it's inarguable.

God that was so weird. I remember Krivsky giving bizarre quotes justifying signing Chad Moeller to a major league deal because "you need 3 catchers" in case of injury or meteor strike because without a catcher you couldn't play baseball. He acted like it was the most obvious thing in the world, despite the fact that we were the only team doing it.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

    I agree.

Especially the kind that doesn't get on base much. I LOVE seeing a lightning fast trip back to the dugout.

Gotta love just about any Earl quote.

PS Has anyone ever told Dusty the key to winning baseball is pitching and three run homers .

Dusty thinks it's pitching and solo homers, thus his distain for "base clogging" OBP guys.

Hah, I thought it was obvious. For the record, I agree wholeheartedly with Earl's sentiment. Less fleas, and more 3-run homers, please and thank you.

I would second that, but also add the related ingredient of "fire" to the list.

Hmm... I thought we needed more Keanu Reeves.

How do we know he's not Mel Torme?

Ya' know, for all the three-run homer talk, Weaver usually had a Buford or Shelby or Bumbry at the top of the line-up and Berlanger laying down bunts in the two-hole.

But Weaver was a fox, not a hedge-hog. He could drop some small-ball on you when small ball was required.
