Is Marty being serious about Bill James or is he mocking? I honestly can't tell.

Our defense spends too much time on the field.

    Good news for tomorrow!
per CT Rosecrans "Butcher just got a text message from Aaron Harang, reassuring him that he is indeed in Cleveland. Which means he's pitching tomorrow."

Talking about closers, what's-his-face says I don't care what Bill James says, I think a closer is most important, all the great teams have one, and Marty responds boy Bill James is a smart guy, along with Billy Beane out in Oakland. Those two and Tony LaRussa were in the room with Abner Doubleday when he invented the game. And Sandy Alderson was knocking on the door but they wouldn't let him in.

Really couldn't tell if he was serious or mocking.

I dunno...I was kind of liking the idea of Harang, Arroyo and Lohse vs. WAS.

Well it's probably safe to say Marty doesn't own an autographed copy of Moneyball... There's probably a reason that Cleveland just hired Keith Woolner rather than Marty.
