These next two at bats may just be the biggest of the game.
    Thank goodness for baseball.

Howard with a long single off the wall. Rollins scores, Utley to third.

    1-0 Philadelphia

    1st and 3rd again, 1 out.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

    Mayberry K's

p.s. Ludwick gave a foul ball away to Phillies fans. Half expect them to throw it at his head when he turns around and knock him out.

Yep. We caught them at the wrong time. All their guys are hitting rockets all over the place.

    Brown K's looking on 3-2.

    1-0 Phillies after 1.

25 pitches for Homer that inning.

25 pitches, but a really, really good job of pitching smartly to Mayberry and Brown.

Homer settled down nicely there. Has to avoid making it too good to Utley and Howard, those guys can really do damage.

Got lucky that Howard's shot stayed in the park and got a favorable call on that last strikeout.

Only one run, still a ballgame.

That called third strike was just in the zone, if it was at all. Looked pretty low to me, but Homer needed that one.
    Thank goodness for baseball.

Indeed. I was very impressed with the way he didn't walk anyone despite falling behind against several batters.

    Bruce K's.
    Rolen flies out to right.
