Hanigan came in for Mesoraco on a double-switch when Chapman entered and now he promptly singles to lead off the 9th. It'd be nice to get him across the plate.

Did I say that he was a trash pitcher? I didn't say the pickup was a mistake, so please don't take my words out of context. I said he shouldn't be pitching the 8th. That role should belong to Marshall.

Stubbs pops out to the pitcher on a bunt attempt. One down, Cozart still at second.

Soriano really wasn't in much of a hurry to get that ball. Great job by Hanigan to score.

I prefer to use words that this board frowns upon to describe the Reds ability to bunt.

I just think the team hasn't fully recovered from the whole "talking in the third person" jinx here on Redszone

Yet Sean Marshall struggled today too. If you haven't noticed, everyone on the Reds have been struggling for almost a week. I'm not sure why Broxton's performance is any more suggestive he shouldn't be pitching the 8th than Marshall's was where he gave up three baserunners in the 7th.

I agree with you that Marshall should be pitching the 8th. However, to be fair, even Marshall's had two straight rough outings.

Even good relievers have bad games and a rough stretch. But when both our setup guys decide to have a rough stretch simultaneously, it's not going to be pretty. Just be thankful that we should hopefully still grab this win if Chapman comes through.
