In the bottom of the 5th, the Bats trail 1-0 and Hermida has the only hit.
Bats have not walked and have K'ed 7 times.

Janish is 0 for Louisville.
Janish got a single. And a throwing error.
Since Janish joined the Bats, Sappelt, Frazier, Dorn and Costanzo are hitless.
The Bats had 3 hits and 1 error and were shutout 2-0.
The hitters seem to have shut down waiting for the all-star break.
Dragons win their record breaking game 4-1.
Renken pitched a solid 6 2/3 with only one mistake that ended in a solo blast by South Bends giant 1B. The bat boy went 1/4 with an RBI, but 3 solid at bats. First AB he drove in Hamilton on an infield grounder to the right side after Hamilton stole 2nd and 3rd. Hamilton probably had the play of the game by throwing out a runner at home from halfway into center field, kept the game tied.
A lot of hard hits that found gloves or foul territory for the Dragons, especially from Lutz/Duran/Torreyes. Team was way more impressive looking than the last time I saw them about 2 months ago.
Drew Hayes is making a mockery of the Midwest League. After striking out three in the ninth inning tonight he stands at 37.2 IP, 15 H, 18 BB, 60 K, 14 sv, 0.96 ERA. He'll be 24 in September and is obviously worthy of a promotion, but I can understand letting him stay in Dayton and help that club have a big second half. Especially with the alternative being Bakersfield. Seems like a guy who might skip a level to start next year.
Carolina leads the second game 6-4 after five. Three-run homers by Quintin Berry and Jake Kahaulelio. Didn't see that coming.
Edit: Take that back. Berry's was a solo shot to start the game. But he has 3 RBIs, with a double involved.

Sean Buckley has his fifth HR--his third in two nights--but Billings trails after eight. A mediocre start for Guillon, but a slight improvement. Followed by a rare off night for El'Hajj Muhammad.
The AZL Reds trail 3-0 after five, which is what happens when Brandon Dailey doesn't have a hit. Daniel Tuttle had a strong start: 3 IP, 2 H, 1 r, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K.
Bakersfield has totally stopped hitting, which isn't surprising considering the guys they gave up to Carolina. Also, they faced Zack Wheeler of the Giants tonight. It's 2-1 San Jose after seven. Curtis Partch had a nice start.
Not that anyone cares, but the Mudcats won game two of the double header 8-4 and sweep the twin billing.
Billings lost 8-5. Buckley's two hits leave him at .333. He and Drew Poulk have given that team some consistent offense.
Ryan LaMarre singles and steals with two out in the ninth, but is left stranded and Bakersfield falls 2-1.
