Ever listen to the Plagiarism CD Sparks put out in '98, where they did covers of a bunch of their own tunes including Angst? They get symphonic in it. Pure genius.

Jesus and Mary Chain - Honey's Dead
    The Hives - Tyrannosaurus Hives
    Pixies - Doolittle
Wolf Parade - Apologies to the Queen Mary
Fugazi - 13 Songs (yes, I know that's cheating because it was two different EPs combined to form a single CD)
Ramones - All the Stuff and More Vol. 1 (because I can't choose between Ramones and Leave Home and thanks to this compilation I don't have to)
Rocket From the Crypt - All Systems Go, Vol. 2 (a bunch of previously unreleased stuff they threw together for a limited release, it's all over the place and I love it)
Good list. I've always been a big UO fan. I've seen them a couple times. There's a band that knew what it meant to be "rock stars".

    I miss em.

    Gentlemen - Afghan Whigs
    Katie Lied - Steely Dan
    Doolittle - Pixies
The Queen is Dead - The Smiths
Rust Never Sleeps - Neil Young

    (that's 13, sue me)

edit: somewhere in there should be "The Soft Bulletin" by the Flaming Lips and at least one Replacements album.....
Now that I think about it, if we're going to include compilations I think I prefer "Louder than Bombs" to "The Queen is dead"

Not to mention the fact that "Blackie Onasis" may well be the greatest rock n roll name ever.

Re: Your All-Time Top 10 Favorite Albums

Just off the top of my head --

"Before These Crowded Streets" - Dave Matthews Band (Not a single track on the disc that I skip -- "Crush", "Don't Drink the Water", and "Stay" are all among my favorite songs ever recorded)
"The Magical Mystery Tour" - The Beatles ("Penny Lane", "I am the Walrus" and "All You Need is Love" on the same disc)
"Echo, Echo" - Carbon Leaf (Their later album "Indian Summer" had a more polished sound, but this was where they really fused celtic and folk rock together)
"Who's Next" - The Who ("Baba O'Reily" and "Behind Blue Eyes" would put this in the top ten even if the rest of the disc was static)
"In Between Now & Then" - O.A.R. (Their most complete disc, starts off strong and has some great jam tracks)
"Drunken Lullabies" - Flogging Molly ("Another Bag of Bricks" is their best track so far, and the rest of the disc has amazing energy)
"Liquid Swords" - The GZA (No rap or hip-hop CD I've ever listened to even comes close to the quality of this. The wordplay and rhyming is fantastic and the beats are amazing)
"Kind of Blue" - Miles Davis (Pure genius.)
"Achtung Baby" - U2 (Everything since this disc has been way too poppy and overproduced for U2. They still had a lot of their charm with this album)
"Stankonia" - Outkast ("Bombs Over Baghdad" -- who'd have thought it'd still be relevant in 2007)

    HONORABLE MENTION:
"Continuum" - John Mayer (absolutely one of the best albums I've ever heard, but so new that I can't justify it in the top-10)
"The Lillywhite Sessions" - Dave Matthews Band (unreleased album that would've featured all the best tracks off "Busted Stuff" plus the incredible JTR)
"Definately Maybe" - Oasis ("Live Forever" and "Supersonic" are amazing, but I'm not sure that "Don't Believe the Truth" or "The Masterplan" aren't better albums)
"Doggystyle" - Snoop Dogg (still one of the best "banger" rap albums ever produced)
"Stop Making Sense" - Talking Heads (sounds current, even 2 decades later)

I thought ten albums would be easier than ten songs, but I CAN'T DO IT. I actually did 50 albums once and that was hard enough.

Good list. Second edition has about the best beginning of a program ever - Wobble's distorted bass and JL wailing about "getting rid of the albatross...". Intense.

Always afraid that threads like these show how "un-hip" I am, but here goes.

    The Beatles - Rubber Soul
    The Beatles - Abbey Road
    The Beatles - Sgt Peppers

Ok, that's out of the way now the rest of the list.

Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band - Live Bullet
The Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed
Frank Sinatra - Songs for Swinging Lovers
    The Eagles - Hotel California
    Billy Joel - The Stranger
    The Cars - The Cars
    Queen - Live Killers
