With the strike zone that Pujols gets in every single AB its laughable for TLR to ever cry about a strike zone. And if you think Votto is the only one that argues with umps you should watch Pujols.

    This.

After the SF series this weekend, the Cards go on the road for 10 games against Pittsburgh, DC and Houston. The could pile up some wins in a hurry next week and slice into whatever lead the Reds have.

Unless they're playing in Cincinnati, the road has not been kind to St Louis

The good news is that with a 4-1/2 game lead, the Reds can take care of business on their own, put their hand on Pujols and LaRussa's forehead, and watch them flail their arms wildly as they try to reach them with punches that never land.

Neither have the Astros wherever they've been playing the Cards

MLB has set up proper channels for teams to tell them about bad umpiring, and specifically tells teams not to use the media to discuss it.

Squawking stops when the channels leave the users satisfied. If they were satisfied or confident that someone was paying attention, they'd be more likely to step in line.

Trust me, I am no fan of LaRussa, but MLB plate work is consistently inept.

Maddux and Glavine used to get those kind of calls every game.
I'll give you that, Votto 3 call was horrible. and I don't think Larussa should be crying about it to the media, but I am saying that he has the right to be upset.

Bad calls are a part of the game.

That said, I have little patience for an umpire that has a really poor grasp of balls and strikes. And umpires have been really poor this season.

I don't blame Votto for arguing, as I feel as if he's been screwed over more than once this season. If LaRussa thought his team was getting squeezed (and it looked like he had a case for sure), I see no reason to give him crap.

Of course, LaRussa and his team are constantly complaining about something, it seems. I can see why some people think it's little more than a fart in the wind.

My guess is that if Dusty had said this this topic would be quite different to read.
