I just took a quick look at his zone profile at Brooks Baseball and was shocked to see just how terrible he has been on dead red middle of the zone pitches. The strikezone can be split into 9 squares. The one directly in the middle, ideally, should be the best one to hit from. Last year Cozart had 7 home runs on pitches there. His IsoP was .484 at that part of the zone. This year? He doesn't have a single extra-base hit in that area of the strikezone on 31 balls put in play. That's really hard to even figure out.
