Personally, I think Posey is monsterously over-rated. It wouldn't shock me to see him go all Giovanni Soto on the Giants.

And I can't think of any deal right now that I'd include Votto in. It would have to be ridiculously lopsided in the Reds favor to even consider it I'd think.

lol what? He hit .336 as a 25 year old. He has a career .883 OPS playing in that ballpark.

He's not going to go Giovanni Soto, but I do agree his 2012 was an anomaly. He's an All-Star and should be one of the best catchers in the game for years to come, but he's not an .900+ OPS guy.

I know he's had great stats. It's just one of those gut feelings. I can't explain it.

He almost OPS'd 1.000 on the road. The kid is a monster, and that is just talking about him offensively. He's very good defensively too. Now has 2 rings in 3 years as a starting catcher.

+1. No way he dips to Soto levels. Absolutely no way. If for no other reason than I NEVER want to say that Geovany Soto hit a Grand Salami off of Latos in Game 5 of the NLDS that proved to be the straw that broke the camels back.

Future HOF catcher? Sure, Im ok with that.

Posey is about as close to objectively not being overrated as you can be.

Even if for some completely absurd reason for see some kind of massive fall off for him, he's earned every accolade that's come his way thus far.

Chip would trade Votto, and pay the entire contract, for just one more day with Javy as a Red.

By the way, we better not be talking about trading my cat Votto Raisor. He's awesome.

I'd trade 3 cats for a dog every day of the week, and twice on Sunday.....

Trade him for Zach Stewart (Cy Young winners don't grow on trees). That should free up enough cash to get Chris Denorfia back.

Deep down everyone expects a plus hitting catcher to turn into a pumpkin at the stroke of midnight.
