What's with the gesture he does after reaching home?

I think it's a response to the people who have been voicing doubts about his knee and being able to hit for power the same way he used to. I'd say he's doing a good job of showing us his knee is up to snuff

"That went so far, you couldn't even see it hit the ground."

All models are wrong. Some of them are useful.

They say the crowd gave a gasp when Darvish broke off a curve earlier in the AB. Then he hit that curve about as far as you can. Always find it cool when Votto gets into things this much. Like not stepping out of box against Lowe last season.

I absolutely love it. Joey might look like a choir boy, but he's a lion at heart.

“I was just fooling with the crowd,” Votto said. “It’s spring training and we’re having fun, there’s nothing really to it.”

That was awesome. If you have MLB.tv, go back and watch that AB. It's sort of what it's great about baseball.

Wow...yeah, I'd say he crushed that ball......Darvish even said something about it in the clip. I think his knee is fine

I think the ball took that big white bus out of town.

Bomb!! I couldn't get enough of it. When even the pitcher giggles about it you know it went a LONG way.

Yet another reason why I named my cat after this cat.

In spring training, Votto goofs and Darvish laughs.

In the regular season, Joey gets buzzed by a high and tight fastball in his next AB.

Yes Sir. As it should be. JV looked to stand and admire that shot a little bit too.

I doubt Votto does that in the regular season.

I would have no problem if that happened either. I doubt Votto does that in a regular season game. These guys are just having some fun while getting their work in.

That was Mark McGwire vs Randy Johnson in the Kingdome far.

If anyone feels like watching Votto highlights check out the Mother's Day game last year. May 6 vs the Nationals 4-5 3 HR, 1 2B, a warning track fly out. Also one of the HRs was a walkoff grandslam. Everything he hit that day was crushed.
