Cueto looked pretty tough in the first. 2 Ks, a walk, and a pop-up. His fastball hit 96 at one point.

Bruce with a solid base knock into right to start off the bottom of the first.

1-6-3 DP but Bruce was safe at 2nd. Of course the call is blown. Greene didn't have his foot on the bag when he caught the ball.

Phillips strikes out on a breaking ball way down and away. Seems RHPs know what we know - he'll chase that just about every time with 2 strikes.

Does it out of respect. Wouldn't want Peavy to dislike Dusty. After all, he is a players manager.

Dunn with a rocket that one hops the RF wall. He hits it too hard so he's held to a single.

Out of respect for Dusty's respect for Peavy.

Hitters who avoid outs are the funnest.

The Reds really don't have any good hitting catchers. Somehow Dusty manages to get two of them in the lineup without using a DH.

Peavy has earned the right to face a lesser lineup. He's old school.

    Peavy's 2008 splits:

    RHB: .192/.242/.346/.588
    LHB: .267/.324/.405/.729

His career splits look very similar as well. Dude's just death on righties.

    BTW, Bako struck out.

Did anyone notice that it took George Grande exactly 8 seconds into the broadcast to say "get em on get em over get em in?"

    Literally:

"Along with the crafty left hander Chris Welsh, I'm George Grande. Get em on get em over get em in..... blah blah blah."

My finger went right to mute.
