I am not sure why, but that is hilarious. By the way this is my first post in the ORG and I thank you for all who gave me the opportunity. Wanted my first post to be a great one, but for some odd reason this post raised me from my rainy day funk and put a smile on my face.

With this pitching I feel as if the Reds could win any game, with the possible exception of one pitched by Oswalt. Should the Reds slip into the wild card spot with a 82-80 record, they would have as good a chance as any other team to win it all. Even an anemic hitting team has an above average chance of winning when it pitches a shutout.

This a point I think Walt has to be looking at - pitching wins in the post season. Offense can get you there in the long grind of a season but it's almost always comes down to dominant pitching in October. These guys might just be that good. At some point I hope they say wait a minute - with this kind of pitching we could be the surprise of baseball this year and get a legitimate bat for the cleanup spot. IF - and that's a big if, these guys continue to dominate like this you must take a shot at it all.

The plan has been clear. Build the future with pitching.

It could be that the future has arrived. Will there be bats for sale?
I was thinking the same thing, along with the emphasis on defense. I'm pretty sure the team would look much the same at this point if WK still were in charge.

In two games against us this year, Oswalt is 0-0 (the Astros are 1-1).

Good pitching can even neutralize unbeatable pitchers.

And they're doing it with all their home games in GABP!

Well, not quite. Their play at home has something to be desired so far. On the road though...NICE.

I think he was referring to the fact that the team ERA is best in the bigs despite playing 11 out of 26 games at GABP, which only makes the feat even more impressive.

Okay, that I can go along with.

But at some point in time, they need to start showing that fire in the home stadium. You'll never rebuild the fan-base if they continue to really only show it on the road.

Very true. It's going to take a long time to rebuild our fanbase, I'm sad to say.

One season of winning will rebuild the fanbase.

    Well, I don't agree with that...but it's certainly a good start.

So you're saying we'll need 10 seasons of winning baseball?

    I can get with that.

It was fun while it lasted. I would assume they lead the league in ERA no longer...
