Choo didn't cost them much at all, except Gregorious.
I really think a righty bat can be found. Any bat really. Walt's done it before, and most teams that are selling off would foot the bill for some of it. I just think he's putting his eggs in Ludwick's basket.

That is funny.
I got called a Debbie Downer for stating that I hope the team did not just give up it's weeks worth of runs yesterday.
Again.... Since June 15th or so... NO more than 2 games have the Reds scored 3 or more runs. Most of the time it has been 2 or less.
NOT the 1968 Indians, 1970 Orioles or 1991-92 Braves can overcome even that on a day by day basis.

Yes, on average we have a really good offense.
I think we know exactly what they're going to do next....stay at 3 runs or under through next weekend, win a couple of those due to pitching, explode like they did yesterday, then go back to 3 runs or under for a few games.

Adjusted for home parks, the Reds are basically a league average offensive team (NL league avg OPS+ = 94, Reds OPS+ = 94).

How are they this bad against the AL...all they have is that DH thing. Was Willie Horton playing DH today? Maybe Rico Carty or Jeff Burroughs?
Reminds me of the 90s Braves. I'd love to win one World Series again in my lifetime like they did, but I know a lot of ATL fans who were largely disappointed with that decade of unbelievable pitching and inconsistent offense. And this CIN lineup makes the ATL lineups of that vintage look like gangbusters.
Pitching is the right foundation, but you gotta have enough offense to win against teams that can run equal or similar pitching out there. The Reds cannot do that. It will not happen without a move (or two).
Rounding third and heading for home...
17 of the next 20 on the road. A three-game home series with the Pirates mixed in. 10 games on the West Coast. Hold on, folks.
