Why would he put Castro ahead of Ross?

This is probably the best argument for letting EE work through his problems. He gets sent down just when it looked like his bat was coming to life, too. He hit the ball hard at least three times last night. That throwing error was just too costly, I guess. I know when he catches a hard hit ball that gives him plenty of time to make the throw, I hold my breath a little bit, but Castro and Freel are not improvements. EE is our best shot at a RH bat coming through to help the team with some power.

So - in 26 games Lance Berkman has 1 HR off the NL starters, but in 8 games against Reds starters he has 4 HR's.

Yup, thats about right. The Reds really need to pitch him differently than they currently do. Whatever their scouting report says, toss it and become Opposite George.

the Astros also have this thing about not splitting up their most productive hitters, a novel concept to the Reds.

Even though the Reds pitchers seem reluctant to do it but I would think Berkman deserves a high hard one to put him on his back the first time up today.

There is no doubt he needs that. The way he dives out over the outside part of the plate and drive balls over the wall in LF. He has no worry of the Reds coming hard inside to him.

Castro and Freel on the left side of the infield. Thats truely impressive.

    This franchise is just sad.
