    RIP Jack Klugman

Jack Klugman, the prolific, craggy-faced character actor and regular guy who was loved by millions as the messy one in TV's "The Odd Couple" and the crime-fighting coroner in "Quincy, M.E.," died Monday, a son said. He was 90.

    Rest in peace Quincy

The Odd Couple.... What a classic sitcom. I wonder why it's not being shown on TV anymore like so many of the other older shows?

    RIP Jack.

On a different note, actor Charles Durning has also passed away..... http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/26/mo...anted=all&_r=0

I remember him more from Quincy, but also several episodes of the Twilight Zone, especially the one where he beat Jonathan Winter in a pool cotest to become "the best ever."

Trivial fact: Jack was the last surviving juror from the classic 1957 film "12 Angry Men"...

I just finished reading an article on Durning in today's Wall Street Journal which recounted Durning's World War II military service much along the lines of the article you attached. Wow--I have tremendous respect for Durning. RIP

Wow! That's an obituary well worth reading. His time in WWII should be respected by all. He was in the first wave to hit the beaches at Normandy, survived an attack by a German soldier, then was one of the few to survive the Malmedy massacre.

I read that too. Durning's life story would be worthy of a film itself.
