    Ticket Prices won't be raised!

    From Fay:
The Reds won't raise ticket prices for this coming season. The only exception is with season-ticket holders who bought 3- or 6-year deals that expired this year.

This sounds like a no-brainer -- given the economy and last year's record -- but I can't remember the last time the club didn't raise at least some prices on individual tickets.

The move is result of the record, not economic crash.

"We made the decision in August," said Karen Forgus, vice-president of communications and marketing. "Bob (Castellini) was adamant because of the way the team played. He said they're not going up -- not $1."

The reason the Reds held off announcing the decision was they wanted to notify those people with the 3- and 6-year deals. It was fewer than 100 people.

"We wanted to contact them 1-on-1," Forgus said.

The Reds have done that. More than half of those affected have already renewed.

And as to report that Jim Bowden tried to get Joey Votto in a trade. I'm sure he did. You can try to get ARod for your fantasy team, too. But your buddy isn't going to give him up unless you make a ridiculous offer.

Another thing remember: Walt Jocketty hasn't made a trade with Jimmy B. since the 1997 Jeff Brantley-for-Dmitri Young deal. Brantley had a bad shoulder at the time, so that may have had something to do with it.
Gotta love Bob, we should truly appreciate that we have an owner like him

If only the players would now agree to not ask for any raises. lol.

Castellini may not always make the best baseball decisions, but his heart is always in the right spot. He loves the game, loves the Reds and this is more proof.

Well, maybe the Reds need to step up and Trade for Jake Peavy to reward the fans and give them the Best Rotation in the League, cause boys if the Chicago Cubs get Peavy...

    Dempster
    Zambrano
    Peavy
    Lilly
    Harden

We might as well trade with the KC Royals and go the AL Central...

The worst pitcher in that rotation would be making over 10m a year. The Cubs are the Yankees of the NL (- the championships)

    Actually I like

    Volquez
    Harang
    Arroyo
    Cueto
    Owings/Ramirez/Bailey

almost as much, especially for less than half the price.

I am a huge homer and proud of it, but I would still rather have

    Volquez
    Harang
    Arroyo
    Cueto
    Owings/Ramirez/Bailey

    for around $25 million than

    Dempster
    Zambrano
    Peavy
    Lilly
    Harden

for $53 million. (and that is just for next year, it gets much worse the next 4 years.)

That would give me $28 million to spend on other postions. Just saying that's what I would want if I was a GM.

Lot of money either way,but i am glad the prices did not increase.By the time i drive from southern Kentucky the wallet,is feeling it.We make several trips a year with my family and it is one of the most beatiful parks i have ever been in.By the way anybody can be a fan of anyone.Wheni eas younger Dann Bilardello and Brad "the animal" Lesley were two of my favorites. To me if your a real reds fan, your there for them if they win 100 games or lose 100 games.
