It's so funny to me that three players Redszone talked about at length in Matzek, Crow and Green ended up going back-to-back-to-back after the Reds picked. But not right after they picked, three picks after they picked.

Does Selig really think he has to announce what draft he's in with every pick?
I'm telling you, Selig's performance is killing me. He's either a bad poet on open mic night, or selfstyled big shot telling the whole bar he wants a bourbon and water.

I never thought Buckley was seriously considering Green. If they didn't take Beckham last year (and took a 1B when they already had Votto) no way they were going to take Green this year. It would be different if Green was definitely going to be a SS at the MLB level. But that's not a sure thing.

Interesting, the divide on Green's defense. Some of you are saying he won't even stick at SS, but the MLB Scouting Bureau Director just said a minute ago that he was the best defensive SS in the draft.

There are far better defensive SS's out there like Ryan Jackson

Buckley said if he was 6'2" he would have went earlier.

Nationals GM Mike Rizzo being interviewed. Rizzo's got to have the toughest job in organized ball. That poor guy.

I agree. Especially with his (pseudo) hometown team.

Somewhere Jim Bowden is conducting his mock draft composed entirely of toolsy outfielders.

I don't understand the Nationals. They need all the talent they can get. Why not draft Matzek or Green or White instead of going cheap? Strasburg + Matzek/White in the same draft would be unbelievable.

Maybe it's a weak year for defensive shortstops? Ha.

I've never seen the guy play, I've just read there are concerns he might have to move to 2B or 3B down the line. No idea for sure though.

There is definitely not a consensus on this. It'll be interesting to see what happens...but why take that risk? Especially if he may end up at 2nd or 3rd? He's not nearly as valuable at those positions.

Cleveland Indians take Alex White with the 15th pick.
