Ground out to Phillips. But they add on. 6-3 Nationals heading to the bottom of the 8th.

Somebody better break out the Rum. Wake up the bats.

Sure, but lets not kid ourselves that the post 2008 and later Tracy is anything like his career line any more than Rolen is like his.

What a shame and if not for Joey Votto, this would be worse. Top 2 batters, 0-6. Postions 4-7, were 2-11. The bottom two 1-5. Joey got 2 hits, long balls, all by himself. Bet it will be a long time before we see sellouts at GABP unless they're giving away something. It's all of a sudden 3 years ago again.

And yet we still stand in 2nd place, 3 games out of first. We're playing well below our potential and the Redbirds are playing well above their heads. I don't think I'm quite ready to call it a season. :O)

IF single for Stubbs as Desmond bobbles it.

Sorry. E on Desmond. Clearly not a hit.

    I'd PH with Mesoraco here.

Of course not, but it's not early anymore and if this hitting drought continues, it will be over. 33 games have been played, roughly a fifth of the season and the team stands at 16-17. Serious moves should be made with the lineup and who is playing, and yet we still see Brandon at cleanup and Jay fifth. I'm just so frustrated, SC,

The rubber is about to hit the road and the Reds are in a tough stretch of schedule. A bad stretch could be a tough blow.

You're not alone. Trust me. But I just don't see these guys struggling this badly much longer. Heisey, Ludwick, Phillips, Stubbs...these guys WILL hit. Votto WILL hit for power. The lineups....well, that just something that's always going to drive me batty with Dusty. Overall, I like him as a manager. But the lineups drive me nuts. :O)
