Re: WWE wrestler Eddie Guerrero found dead

The TNA show last night was in one word for me, sad. Lots of old, washed-up names using the platform for one last pop. Of course, TNA was more than happy to use them. I actually was excited to see Ric Flair; but found it ironic that one of wrestling's loudest men had no lines. The main event (Styles vs. Angle) was very good, but the rest was garbage. The show was almost a line for line remake of the intro of the NWO into Nitro.

Scott Hall appeared as if he was drunk or high and why the Nasty Boys and Val Venis were there, I have no idea....also, Bubba the Love Sponge as a correspondent? Is he that desperate? Mr. McMahon and the WWE brand have nothing to worry about from what I saw last night....oh, and yeah, the return of Hogan? What a waste...

Hall has a history of alcohol abuse. The Nastys, Val and Bubba are friends of Hogan so look for them to get a push to the detriment of the younger talent. Also look for the return of Ed "Brutus the Barber Beefcake" Leslie and Jimmy Hart.

Raw wasn't anything special. Bret returning caught my interest and what he did with Vince and Shawn were interesting but the rest of the show was not real exciting. It's not difficult to see why the WWE flourished after Bret left. He doesn't really have a lot of charisma. Last night wasn't exciting because of Bret; it was exciting because of what might happen with Shawn and Bret and Vince. That said, besides DX and Jericho, the rest of the WWE roster is about as charismatic as Bret.

I think this summed it up pretty well. A bunch of guys the WWE has fired more than once or that have been released due to addictions of one variety or another looking for one more paycheck. As someone else said here, wrestling is in a very bad place right now talent wise, its popularity is strickly hype machine product driven by a man who really knows what he was doing promoting himself wise...and a few other guys who want to be him.

As a teen/early 20 something I really liked the WCW/Nitro stuff. It was kinda cool when they had the invasion angle and Goldberg and Sting and Flair etal. This pass looks kind of like a really sad imitation. If they could have stolen a few WWE 'stars' who are more in their prime it might have been different.

For those wondering why Bret is back, possibly because he legitimately wants to bury the hatchet, and more importantly, he doesn't want to "go out" with the Montreal incident, he wants to at least leave the WWF world on a better note.

Also, they won't be having a "match" per se, it's likely a street fight of some sort, no need to take bumps or anything, it'll be a fight to hide the limitations both Hart and McMahon have.

I agree on Morrison he's a heck of a talent in the ring, a little lackluster with the mic though. I recall when he was brought in as a part of that show on MTV I think it was "Tough Enough", he was a superb athlete. I thought the Miz was a good partner for him as the Miz is somewhat entertaining.

It really seemed of late that Ric was spending all his time trying to help Reid become a polished wrestler, obstinately with the hope of making it to WWE. He is probably taking it very hard.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Flair has had a lot on his plate, deep in debt, health issues, and now this.

Its sad. There were a lot of rumors that he was about to sign with WWE and renew the Rhodes (Cody)/ Flair (Reid) fued with both fathers being involved. Did they ever release what happened?

    Prayers for the Flair family.

He was found dead in a hotel room and he's a wrestler. Every now and then I'm wrong, but I've got a sneaking suspicion this wasn't from natural causes.

He also has an arrest for heroin possession in his past. That's playing with fire. Not sure if he kicked that, but made me wonder.
