Quite the message board we have here

That game thread last night was an abomination. Now we have all these people who have barely posted come on here and scream bloody murder because the Reds didn't win last night.

Did you honestly think something else was going to happen after that awful performance last night and the past week and a half? I havent even been here long and I knew before the game started the things that were going to be said today

This place is still great. Go read ESPN.com/Cincinnati.com/Reds.com/Facebook.com/Reds and then treasure just how good Redszone actually behaved by comparison to everywhere else on the internet to last night.

Yeah, the day/night after losing an elimination game in the playoffs isn't the best day to judge the character of an internet forum.

I could barely get on the game thread last night. To me, that's frustrating. It is also a sign of a healthy baseball forum, too.

After one of the toughest losses -- and most frustrating games to watch -- in recent Reds history, I don't think it is a surprise that some fans crossed the RZ lines. Bygones, I say.

The idea of Redszone is to foster discussion. If the average RZ member can't stomach going into a gamethread because of how vile it is, then there is a problem. That's not a sign of health.

Problem is some here are bound and determined to turn Redszone into ESPN.com/Cincinnati.com/Reds.com/Facebook.com/Reds.

Well I suppose I could be one of those people.

Last night was my first and only, it turns out, game thread of the season. I have three young boys and I don't always get to watch the games live. Watching a game live and participating in a game thread? That's a tall order these days and reserved for special occasions.

Having said that, I didn't think it was that bad, but again I don't have anything to compare it to. Plus, I was apparently being too negative for some in the game thread so I may not be the best judge. I was never angrily frustrated last night, just comically frustrated and most of my posts were just attempts to be funny.

So, if I added to the game thread being unbearable for regulars, I am sorry.

Guys, REPORT posts that cross the line. We had only one reported post from the entire Game Thread last night, and while it was bad it wasn't nearly as bad as a lot of them that didn't get reported (now that I've had a chance to read back through some of it).

I realize it's frustrating to report stuff and not see something immediately happen, but I promise you - we look at them. And even if nothing appears to have happened, there may have been an infraction handed out that nobody is aware of other than us and the person that received it (unless of course they complain about it publicly).

So please... Report stuff that violates the rules. There are times when that is the only way anything will get done about it.

I don't *think* I crossed lines last night. But, Oh I could have, I did do a lot of comic cussing, but I don't think I went any more overboard than anyone else. If I did then I think Boss would have gotten after me. He's done it before... lol!

I want to report that your avatar is distracting me from reporting violations and is causing weakness in the knees and and befuddled facial expressions resembling boyish puppy love grins whenever I look at it.

I hope mods don't mind me saying this but the whole forum has improved dramatically since The Baumer was banned.

I'm glad you brought that up, Larry. I share in your dislike for that poster and I think we're all better off not having The National shoved in our faces everyday.
