I spent most of the afternoon of April 3, 1974 in an inside closet.

April 4, 1974 was a sunny day in the greater Cincinnati area.
Some people play baseball. Baseball plays Jay Bruce.

I remember April 3 quite clearly - we lived a little bit to the west of Xenia.

If I recall correctly, in his autobiography If I Had A Hammer, Hank spent April 3 sitting on a relatives porch, watching a couple of those tornadoes.
And I wish I could say I remember Hank's homer against the Reds, and his record breaker, but I cannot. At 6, I was much too young to appreciate it.
