You can't talk to the person. Let's say you see them from across a room. They're not speaking, just listening to a conversation.
Another guy and I said "no". Two women I asked said "yes".

I wouldn't by any means suggest you can absolutely, but I bet more often than not you can get in the right ballpark.
For example I look brilliant, and I am.
Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

You can gather some idea through social cues, like mannerisms and wardrobe, but the true geniuses of our time often forego most of their social identity. A photograph of a genius scientist looks awfully similar to a photograph of someone who could fit on the opposite end of the spectrum.

I was watching something on the Science Channel the other day and my wife walked into the room and said, "Why do all those really smart people look goofy?"
I'm a good case in point. My I.Q. is on the plus side of 160 and you'd never know it by looking at me, or by being around me for that matter. I think in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter a whole lot besides being a nice number, so I'd rather not conduct myself in a manner to draw attention to it or set myself apart in any way. I probably take more pride in my musical ability anyway.

I look intelligent, but I'm an idiot.
So no.

"This isn’t stats vs scouts - this is stats and scouts working together, building an organization that blends the best of both worlds. This is the blueprint for how a baseball organization should be run. And, whether the baseball men of the 20th century like it or not, this is where baseball is going."---Dave Cameron, U.S.S. Mariner

I was going to say "of course not" but then I saw those Cubs fans.
There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.
