If I lived in Chicago, I'd be looking at job openings in other towns as a result of this storm.

    Stay safe, everyone.

If you look at the weather icons on weather.com for Chicago it just says "Blizzard" I have a buddy from there who just happens to be in Cincinnati today, so he'll miss out on the fun there.

As far as I know, Lakeshore should still be open. It's just light snow right now. The heavy stuff is supposed to start around 3pm at which point they are telling people absolutely not to travel.

Power went out about 10:30 for me and about 10,000 of my fellow Terre Hautians. It finally came on about 3:30. The newspaper this morning, in describing what were are supposed to get today and tomorrow, used the word catastrophic.
I've been to dinner at Jimmy Buffet's house, and I've eaten it at a homeless shelter. And there's great joy and harrowing terror to be found in both places.

What's the scoop? How many inches do you have? Ice? wind?

The company I worked for shut down all plants and operations in and around Chicago at 2pm today. There is no time table for it to reopen. Some of the guys I work with have been there for 35 years and said they've never seen a shutdown before.

A good chunk of I-70 is closed here in MO due to white out conditions. Still saying up to a foot of snow, despite the unexpected amount of sleet early on. Blizzard warnings until midday Wednesday.

I'm *hoping* my hubby's company announces a shutdown for tomorrow at least. Not like they have much to do anyway, even if they get in there to run product, no trucks to get it to the stores. Most of them are stuck out on the highways somewhere. Our entire delivery area is in the storm zone. (he works for the Domino's Commissary system)

I can't take it anymore, I really can't. I spent hours upon hours shoveling every day and can't get done the things I need to. I'm at the end of my rope. I understand why people lose it in cold, dark places come February-ish.
There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.

The high was 64 degrees today. I went for a run outside last night in shorts and a tee shirt. There is another way.

The snow makes me appreciate the summer heat; at least that's what I'm telling myself.
