FBI: Man Plotted To Blow Up Tri-State Landmarks

The FBI is questioning a local man accused of plotting to blow up several Tri-State landmarks.

According to FBI officials, 42-year-old Fred Purvis of Hamilton had several targets on his list, including four bridges over the Ohio River, a casino in Indiana, the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and Paul Brown Stadium.

The FBI says they took Purvis into custody Thursday night for questioning, but he has not been charged with anything at this time.

The FBI is not releasing anymore information at this time, but a FBI spokesperson says more details may become available after the case is unsealed in federal court Friday afternoon.

Purvis is currently being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center until his court appearance later in the day.

He was gonna nuke a casino--yet leave the Underground Railroad Museum unscathed?

What sort of maniac are we dealing with here?

Would have been the first local "explosive offense" in PBS in a while....

Thank goodness the FBI caught this guy. I certainly don't want to pay for another stadium for Mike Brown.

Maybe the Bengals would just fold as a franchise instead?

So would this have caused the Banks project to move along faster?
Hugs, smiling, and interactive Twitter accounts, don't mean winning baseball. Until this community understands that we are cursed to relive the madness.

Maybe the county could've collected the insurance money and gotten out of the awful lease at the same time.

So if PBS blewup and left a big empty barren useless crater, how would we disginguish it from the Banks project?

More importantly, would the trolley system have a stop there?

I vote for paving half of the area and inviting a circus to come....add some fun to the river bank.

You actually think the county would be the beneficiary? All that money would probably go into Mike's pocket.

Setting off a bomb in a casino would be quite an explosion, what with all the oxygen tanks people are carting around in there.

    Yeah, but which casino?

As long as he was targeting Argosy, I'm fine with that. Who would really miss it anyway?

And as for CVG, that would probably end up being a good thing, b/c then it would eliminate Delta's wonderful hub pricing and strategy, and you could get better/cheaper/more affordable carriers in there....

But then when they rebuilt CVG, it would probably give all the people that live around CVG something to ***** about, since it seems like that's what they like to do in regards to CVG.

At least he wasn't targeting Zip's in Mt. Lookout Square. That would have been a legitimate tri-state area landmark.
