My opinion of Brian Kenny is the same as Earl Weaver's was of Don Stanhouse.
Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet ya.

Yeah, because one of the main hosts on MLB Network and former host of Baseball Tonight is a loser who lives with his mom, not a successful part of the media. And, as a part time statistically based baseball blogger, I am insulted by your lame clichéd insinuation. I do not live in my mothers basement thank you.

How about we stop running him?

We're not talking about Billy Hamilton getting thrown out 8 times stealing. He would likely have 50+ steals to go along with those CS's (not 11).
Historically, Choo steals well. How can that be Dusty's fault? Do you want him to run for him?

Since there are no teams on the moon, I guess South Korea's far enough from Cincinnati to satisfy me.

Yep... I was standing by the Reds bullpen... Thought he was safe as well. IIRC usually unsuccessful plays by the home team are not replayed at the game (or it just seems that way).

I think that's sort of an unwritten rule. They don't want to get the fans angry and throwing stuff. I remember hearing that in the late 80s when the "Jumbotrons" were coming out.

BK has no vested interest...he's tweeting his unbiased opinion. I can respect that and happen to agree w/ much of it.

It's been shouted from the cyperspace rooftops on this board on many occasions....Dusty often holds this team back.

But, I guess it's like the 'big brother' idea, we can beat Dusty up, but no one else can.

Re: Brian Kenny crushing Dusty on Twitter

I think he was also tweeting something about how great Clint Hurdle was compared to Dusty, since they have a better record than we do with a worse run differential. Considering he's managed to one winning season in his career, and has micromanaged/overused his bullpen for two straight years, that's comical to me.

Cozart batting 2nd sucked, but there isn't an ideal 2 hitter on this team imo. He has an issue with Phillips batting 4th for some reason, Phillips is the one guy on the team I trust to get the run in when we need it. Him and Bruce have had great years driving in runs with the OBP guys ahead of them.

I do agree with him about trying to get pitchers a win though. I think it's silly, probably something that was done a lot more in the old days. Who knows, maybe our pitchers love him for it. I still don't think leaving Homer in yesterday was a bad move, one double and 2 groundballs that we couldn't turn into outs doesn't tell me a pitcher is done. With the stuff he had in that inning I trusted him to get us out of the inning more than I would Ondrusek/Hoover or whoever else we would run out there.

Oh and I think we was implying something about Dusty telling guys not to walk or something. Well we lead the league in walks by a mile so who really cares?

For all his faults, I'll take Dusty's track record to get us in position after 162 games.

I read Brian Kenny but my read processed this as being Kenny Mayne. Are they the same person?

I think Kenny is not saying anything that hasn't been said once or twice on this board. I guess the issue is similar to complaining about your family. I can complain about my family or friends but you better not say anything bad about them.

Re: Brian Kenny crushing Dusty on Twitter

That's the thing about Dusty... I dislike almost everything about the way he manages.... Other than the results.

He managed the Cubs during their most successful stretch in 100 years

Prior to 2010, he managed the Giants to their biggest success since they moved to SF

And prior to him arriving in Cincy, we hadn't been to the playoffs in 15 years. Now, we've won the division twice under his watch and are in line for the playoffs again.

Has he just been lucky? Maybe. But that would seem to be a convinient excuse for his detractors.

I have Dusty fatigue. He drives me crazy. But in the end, I defer to his results.
