I could not disagree more. If "Bartman" is going to still blamed for a Cubs loss and Buckner for a Red Sox loss, then Joyce will still be blamed for stealing this perfect game.

Modern Mass Media has preserved this as a perfect game.

I'll remember this one more than any official perfect game I've ever seen. It is burned into my memory more than Doc's or Braden's.

Bartman's game potentially cost the Cubs a World Series berth. That's something that hasn't happened since 1945. This was a game on June 2 that had no bearing on the playoffs and didn't cost the Tigers a win. Modern Mass Media has the attention span of a 2 year old child. 5 years from now when someone pitches a perfect game, they will talk about Braden and Halliday and Browning and Koufax and maybe even Harvey Haddix but no one will talk about Gallaraga because they are talking about actual perfect games, not near misses.

I think this game will be burned into baseball lore. I will be telling grand kids about this discussion one day.

An Ernie Shore event for sure, purist will remember, current fans will remember, but as a"story" it is a story that only begins on the last play (or maybe Jackson's catch). So it's not a great game story like Haddix, Larsen....It lacks big game cache, the one cache is human error, so it will be remembered, but I don't think it becomes a big story in the history of the game outside of a chapter on why we now have robots umpire games.

I think Bud Selig will be under pressure to reverse this call. Do you think he should?

If that happened then you will see team after team lineup outside his office door wanting him to overturn a call on a daily basis. It would set a terrible precedent.

Could we get that debacle against the Braves overturned?
My dad got to enjoy 3 Reds World Championships by the time he was my age. So far, I've only gotten to enjoy one. Step it up Redlegs!

    From John Morosi:

Still no comment from #MLB office re #ArmandoGalarraga. But sources have not dismissed possibility of overturn.

Galarraga was robbed of a perfect game but I don't see how you can overturn that call now. Why stop there then? There was a terrible call in Seattle last night to end the game and cost the Twins. Should they overturn that call too?

The 85' Cardinals may be next.

Hopefully we can get insurance in case of robot attacks.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

There is no way Selig should overturn the call. Absolutely horrible precedent to establish. 10-1 says it stays a 1 hitter.

Disagree. I couldn't remember Dallas Braden's name last night and I watched the last 2 innings of his perfect game.

I'll always remember how Galarraga got his butt back up on the mound and got the next dude out and smiled right through all of it.
