Has anyone tried Rabbitt TV?
Has anyone tried Rabbitt TV? Sounds interesting but it also reminds me of Magic Jack, which I tried also. I had middling success with Magic Jack, at times I found it great, other times it would drive me mad.
Rabbitt TV promises something like 10,000 TV stations on your computer. If I could pull up the Reds home games I'd be satisfied but I'd use it for other teams as well. I carry my laptop with me when I'm on the road (which is often) and it claims to work in those also. So, ya' just throw it inthe bag and plug it into a USB port when you get to the hotel, plug it in and, with internet, it should be good to go. I'm not clear if it will work with wi-fi or not. I've currently got Direct TV and their baseball program can get a little expensive and isn't portable. Rabbitt TV is currently offering one of these little plug-ins for $10.00 and no monthly fees. Any help/thoughts would be appreciated. Rem

I doubt you'd be able to get much that is useful out of it. It basically just links to already available online content.
A couple of articles, one says it's a scam, the other does not take it that far: http://freecast.com/news-blog/2013/0...out-rabbit-tv/ http://www.sfgate.com/technology/com...es-4209833.php |

You're not going to be able to watch mlb content like you describe legally for free.
Subscribers can't even watch a lot of streamed mlb content due to blackout restrictions.

Re: Has anyone tried Rabbitt TV?
The only reason I hold on to cable or satellite tv is for baceball. While I'd love for MLB to come up with another option, I look at the big TV contracts that are helping allow the Reds to compete, and I realize that this is the trade-off.

Re: Has anyone tried Rabbitt TV?
I used mlb.tv when I was out of market and loved it. Now that I am back in the area all the games would be blacked out for me which stinks because I don't have cable or satellite, I just don't watch it. I am good with spending 30$/month for 5 months online to watch the Reds but I am not going to spend 110$/month year round to watch them.
(I said 110 because that is the cost with the HD package to get the games in high def)

Re: Has anyone tried Rabbitt TV?
I'm not out of market.
One solution might be to give a portion of a fan's subscription money to the local cable outlet that airs the games, but that seems too simple, so I'm sure I'm overlooking a flaw.

You can get around the fact that you're out of market by using a proxy.
