Powder blue is an awesome color! It's not our fault that the members of Team Red Leader aren't secure enough in their masculinity to sport such a fashionable color, and thus feel the need to make jokes about it.

I grew up on the family side of Mardi Gras, so I have a different perspective. Kind of a big block party, with costumes. Be something you never otherwise would. Release your inhibitions ... if only a little. Forget your troubles ... be happy. Take a break.

I rarely drink at all on Mardi Gras. It's not necessary. Nor is it necessary to do the Bourbon Street/ French Quarter thing. You kind of make into what you want.

One of these years, I'm going to find the Mardi Gras Indians. Or go to Mamou where they make a community pot of gumbo after they catch the chickens and gather ingredients from residents. Or go to Mobile. Or go on a ski vacation or a cultural vacation or a cruise, like a lot of other people do.

But tonight, I'm tired, and tomorrow is a work day. So, I'll think about that another time.

You know the last time I played a non-league scheduled softball game, I snapped a guys ankle in two places on the other team. I am seriously worried about playing.
