Re: Be the last person to post on this thread

Tis a foggy morn. Expected to hear the big fog horn on the way in.

Sometimes when I read this thread in the AM, I feel like I walked into the morning after of a party.

Back in the day, my apartment used to be Party Central. I was usually the ring leader but it would sometimes happen where a crowd was getting fired up and I'd be plain tuckered out. I told them keep the music down, don't break anything, and just to lock up when they're done and I'd go to bed.

Every so often, there would be someone left sleeping on the couch/floor the next day. Guys I'd just bark at and tell them to get the hell out. Girls I'd awake gently and cook them breakfast. And see where things went from there. Carpe Diem :mhcky21:

Do schools get any money from the state?

This levy business is just crazy to me.

Nope. They can just keep at it till it passes.

I saw where the Lakota levy failed by 29 votes with over 26K votes total. Never say your vote doesn't count.

We have a levy coming up for Mason this year that I'm worried about.

My kids are on another 2 hr delay again this morning due to fog.

This was unheard of in my day.... fog delay???

In fact, there was no such thing as a delay. It was rare that they cancelled school for snow. You might be running late because the bus was some what behind schedule, but they made sure you were there.

It must be a liability issue anymore as to why they do it so readily.

(Yes, yes, yes .... I know they go to other places ...... schools are as much a part of the infrastructure as anything else.)

I'm not trying to debate anything, it's just foreign to me.

Amen! I really can't remember my late teens to mid 20's. They were there somewhere, but I think I was robbed.

And man, I wish I had all the money I spent then. I could already be retired.

Yes they do. I don't know what the percentages are, but its fairly evenly divided.

What's bad is that Taft is talking about tax cuts, but for businesses mostly. The Ohio tax burden is going to fall increasinglier on working stiffs like you and me. And that is going to make it even less likely school levies are going to pass. And for the first time in a long time, the number of levies failiing state-wide has gone over 50%. I'm all for tax cuts, but this is eating your young kind of cuts.

I know this is a p-free zone, but Bob Taft has all the leadership ability of a mushroom. </rant>

William Howard Taft wasn't a great president, he wasn't bad as a Chief Justice
