blogs

am i the only person who has not visited a "blog" before? it seems like everyone has one and that i must be missing out on something. that being said, can you share some of your favorite blog sites that you visit on a regular basis? i would be mostly interensed in political and financial sites, but would welcome others as well.

i'm pretty open minded politically, in that i can listen to anyone from rush limbaugh or bill o'reilly to the likes of alan colmes or al franken...they just need to be entertaining. as far as financial shows, i like bob brinker and jim kramer if any of this helps with what i'd be looking for.

help bring this computer simpleton into the latest craze online

Re: blogs

RiC, try starting here. Daypop is a clearinghouse for news stories linked in blogs and it tries to determine which stories are generating the most buzz in the blogosphere. The most active blogs will be aggregated there. The rankings are apolitical and derived statistically. I think you'll find what you're looking for with that page as a starting point.

A recent study revealed that every person in the United States has a blog, with the exception of one Illinois resident known only as Red in Chicago...

:mhcky21:

Just kidding, of course. Actually, I have never visited a blog myself, and I plan to check out some that have been linked here, just to see what the fuss is about. Thanks for bringing this up.

Re: blogs

I read quite a few techonology blogs

http://www.defensetech.org/
Great read if you like Miltary related items

http://www.techdirt.com/
Anything imaginable related to technology

http://www.scienceblog.com/cms/index.php
Science related, but heavy on medicine and health related stuff

Plus most of ones that JD listed I like to read, plus two really good ones with multiple authors I always enjoy

Liberally leaning College Professors
http://www.crookedtimber.org/

Libertarian/Conservative leaning Law Professors
http://www.volokh.com

For Sports Blogs, you can't beat http://baseballblogs.org/ which has every baseball blog out there imaginable.

My personal non-Reds favorite has always been the A's Nation

http://www.athleticsnation.com/
