Latest eBay stunt sees student auction head as adspace
January 10, 2005 Staff, NEW YORK - A 20-year-old man in the US is offering his forehead as an advertising space on eBay, in an attempt to make some money to pay for college. The auction was garnering attention from around the world, along with bids up over $20,000 at the time of writing. Omaha, Nebraska-based Andrew Fisher is offering to carry a logo on his forehead for 30 days, although he is keeping the right to refuse images, slogans or symbols that are offensive. During the period, Fisher promises to carry on his normal life, which he says includes going to work, the movies, the mall, and hanging out with friends. He also plans to update his own website during the 30-day period. Fisher says in his eBay ad: "Weird as it sounds, this form of advertising has been used before, but to my knowledge, no campaign has ever gone for 30 days straight." He has told reporters that he will use the funds from the stunt to pay college fees. http://www.revolutionmagazine.com/Ne...icle&ID=232004 |
