listened to it a couple of days ago, actually. that song actually caused me many nights of unrest. anyone who has seen Twister knows the song from when the gang first went out to chase some tornadoes...a character named Rusty played the song. at the time, i couldn't place my finger on the song, but knew it from somewhere. missed it in the credits. went home, went through almost my entire record collection. even looked at Deep Purples Fireball album...looked right at the title of the song, and went "nah." i think it was literally two years later before i actually figured it out! |

Re: Lets Hear Your Favorite 5 Songs of All Time
Not really possible to list a top 5, as it changes constantly, but here are five that would be in the running...
1. Seasons of Wither - Aerosmith 2. Backstreets - Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band 3. Everybody's Girl - Rick Springfield 4. Telegraph Road - Dire Straits 5. Hyacinth House - The Doors

Crying, "Hey man, well this is Babylon." There'll always be a place in my heart for that band, as I met my wife at one of their concerts. M's white-boy-quasi-rap persona got a little old after 3 albums, but what a great sound they had.

Here's my top 10 list of post 1968 rock n' roll songs (OK - the Hank Williams is sort of cheating) that run the gamut from recognition of the divine to a sense of longing.
1. Beach Boys - God only knows 2. Velvet Underground - What goes on / Beginning to see the light 3. Al Green - Still in love with you 4. Ace Frehley/Red House Painters - Shock Me 5. Gibb Brothers / Gram Parsons /whoever else covered this - To love somebody 6. The Jesus and Mary Chain - Just Like Honey 7. Hank Williams/Mekons/whoever else covered this - Lost Highway 8. Jonathan Richman - Roadrunner 9. The Stooges - Down in the Street Best baseball related song: Jonathan Richman - Walter Johnson |
