Re: Annual Kentucky Derby Picks

I just threw down $20 on High Fly - Zito/Jerry Bailey.

I might also put some down on Noble Causeway if I head over to the track/betting place tomorrow.

A negative rep point for the post above?

You have got to be kidding me, someone really has too much time on their hands.

Keep up the fine thinking!

Noble Causeway, I'll probably stop by Beulah Park sometime today to put some money down.

"Beulah Park", now that brings back some memories, the first place that I ever won any real money, well back then, $5,000.00 what a thrill, being much younger, I cashed the ticket and ran all the way to the car out of fear of getting rolled.....

Went through them with the boy. TeamGriffey's pick is Flower Alley.

High Fly is my pick too. Of course, it's the name that caught my eye... but the youngster has a decent record. I'm looking forward to seeing how beautiful he is in the winner's circle!

Re: Annual Kentucky Derby Picks

I thiink the race will be decided right out of the gate. If Bellamy runs on the lead with Spanish Chestnut and Going Wild, he will pack it in at the top of the stretch
and set it up for Afleet Aex. If he can do like Smarty did last year and lay off right behind the early speed , he'll probably win. Don't like the fact he's only had 2 races this year, but he does look special. But not at 5/2. So I can't bet on him and I can't bet against him.

Will therefore box triples:

Bellamy and Afleet Alex
over those two and Greeley's Galaxy and High Fly,
over those four and Bandini,High Limit,Sun King, Wilco, and Noble Causeway.

A $4 triple costs $168.00. Hope they all make it through ok.

I got one for mine too!

Apparently someone doesn't like our choices of horses!

Re: Annual Kentucky Derby Picks

Passing off what I just put money down on.

Three seperate bets
Greely's Galaxy to Win
Flower Alley to Place
High Limit to Show

And I picked an Exacta Box, with High Fly, Greely's Galaxy and Bellamy Road. If any combo of those three get first and 2nd I win big.

Good stuff, off to the sports bar to watch it. Happy betting everyone.

I know that feeling. I hired a car to take me back from Aqueduct ($25.00) because I was afraid of riding the subway with 5 grand in my pocket. (I gave you some plus points).
