Thank you on the points. Mine was back in the days of having to go to the special tax window, anyone paying attention had to know and was a potential threat I thought.

I thought that you did quite a good job in your early analysis of how the race would be run.

Re: Annual Kentucky Derby Picks

No white horse?

Somebody asked Adam Dunn before the race who he thought would win Saturday's Kentucky Derby and he said, "A brown horse. That's how much I know. And now that I've said that, a gray horse probably will win ... that's how I'm going."

Of course Giacomo, the Derby winner, was the only gray horse in the field.

Re: Annual Kentucky Derby Picks

exacta $9800, trifecta $133,000+, 2$ superfecta over $1.7 million baby.

Thats pretty good winning for somebody.

50-1 comes in 1st, 60-1 comes in 2nd... wow.

I bet neither of those horses so much as show in the Preakness. Bellamy Road will have to change plan of attack to compete in the other 2 races.

Re: Annual Kentucky Derby Picks

If you like white horses, go to the Medowlands on Haloween, they run a race called the Grey Ghost- only for grey and white horses, its very neat. Also, bet grey horses when it rains and the track is sloppy.

The derby- that old rabbit really screwed things up. The pace was so hot that the race fell apart and set it up for the closers. Also, Belamy Road proved again that no matter how good you are, you need more than two prep races to be ready for the Derby- ie Point Given.

Also, the Santa Anita Derby was run in unbelievable slow early fractions. Horses like Giacomo never got going, making the times they ran and their figures meaningless. Giacomo was also training like gangbusters, but in LA under the microscope. He didn't come to Louisville until midweek. This whole thing was like a perfect storm.

What I don't understand is that Giacomo is not bred to win the Derby. But neither was Smarty and some other recent winners. I guess these days a miler in good shape can win this thing.

Finally, congradulations to Mike Smith who has always seemed like a good guy.
