This is really a minor thing, but did you see him break out of the box?
Could it be as he was getting to second he looked at the 3rd base coach, saw the hold sign, and decided to "coast" into second?
Then admire things?

I saw the play. There's no way a runner with Randa's speed gets to third base safely on that ball. Nor the one Lopez hit and Lopez is much faster than Randa.
