Anybody playing NCAA March Madness 06?

I got it for XBox. They really got it right this year. Lock-down stick is awesomely done; controls are slick; graphics spectacular... last year's version just didn't "feel right" to me. This year's iteration is awesome. A+.

Re: Anybody playing NCAA March Madness 06?

I think I have the 2004 version at home somewhere, but I haven't touched it in a while. I tend to be seasonal with the sports games. During the baseball season I tinker around with MVP and right now on those rare occasions that I get time to play something, I've been playing Madden. I'll have to check that one out, but I rarely buy them new. They cost too much new, but when they have second hand copies available then I get them. I'll have to check that out though. There's nothing more enjoyable than taking some little school that never has a snowball's chance and winning it all with them. When I was playing the 2004 version I would take the little schools and try to build them into powerhouse teams. It was always more of a challenge that way.

Re: Anybody playing NCAA March Madness 06?

Yep, Definitely. It's selling for 40 bucks; not quite as high as most other games. I bet you could find it on ebay for 30.

It is well worth the money. The lock-down stick is this new defensive thingamajig where you press down on the right analog stick to "lock-down on your defender." Once doing so, you can only maintain the "lockdown" defense by anticipating which way the defender is going to move. Successfully doing that allows you to time a steal when the ball is exposed. Very cool. Plus the atmosphere of this year's game really exudes college bball.

I'd recommend it to anyone who likes sports games.

Seasonal? C'mon, ORH! College basketball is upon us!

Let me know if you see a copy around $20. I've been spending too much money at Home Depot lately, especially after putting my foot through the ceiling last night.

I have a PS2. I don't play it that often though, only when my wife isn't home.

Re: Anybody playing NCAA March Madness 06?

Cool, did a search, looks like the cheapest its going for is around 30 bucks w/ shipping included. Like you said, esp. w/ sports games, the longer it is out, the cheaper it becomes.

There's a store here in Cincinnati Mills that buys them back from people and then re-sells them for pretty cheap. Sometimes you'll find stuff in there for $10. or less.

Let me guess. One of those naughty little trick-or-treaters pulled the old "Flaming Bag of Dog Poop in the Attic" trick?

Ah...That one brings back fond memories. Toldya you should've handed out candy last night...

Putting in insulation, one false step with a bit too much weight on that foot and...now we have the beginnings of a skylight in the bedroom. I'm off to Home Depot again tonight.
