Fantasy basketball

Setting up a yahoo league. League ID: 187714 Password: 123456 Let me know who is interested (or just sign up) and let me knowwhat day and time they'd prefer the draft to be. I have it tentatively scheduled for Monday Nov. 7th at 8:00 PM CT (not sure if I can change this). Hopefully we can get this started and only miss a week.

Head to head league. Start PG, SG, SF, PF, C, Util, Util. 4 bench spots.

Statistical categories: FG%, FT%, 3PT%, PTS scored, REB, AST, STEALS, BLOCKS, and to make it an uneven number I threw in Technical fouls for the kicker.

This can all be changed with input.

Re: Fantasy basketball

I've never even thought about playing fantasy basketball, but what the hell, I'll give it a shot. Anything to keep me intrested in a sport that's gonna be on TV every night that I normally lose intrest in after the first month or so.

Re: Fantasy basketball

Yeah, I've never played fantasy basketball before, but whatever, it's not like there's any money at stake or anything. What's important in fantasy basketball? You know, how they say to get good RB's first in football.

Re: Fantasy basketball

I'm in. Like Gainesville said, what the hell.

I know it'd be interesting for technicals to be the odd category, but I think we should add something more predictable to the list.

I'd vote TOs.

I've noticed that it is nice to have players that play multiple positions. Besides that I don't think there is no one position that you need.

Re: Fantasy basketball

Here is a list of all possible categories. TOs sounds good if everyone doesn't like technical fouls. Give me some input.

Games Played (GP)
Games Started (GS)
Minutes Played (MIN)
Field Goals Attempted (FGA)
Field Goals Made (FGM)
Field Goal Percentage (FG%)
Free Throws Attempted (FTA)
Free Throws Made (FTM)
Free Throw Percentage (FT%)
3-point Shots Attempted (3PTA)
3-point Shots Made (3PTM)
3-point Percentage (3PT%)
Points Scored (PTS)
Offensive Rebounds (OREB)
Defensive Rebounds (DREB)
Total Rebounds (REB)
Assists (AST)
Steals (ST)
Blocked Shots (BLK)
Turnovers (TO)
Assist/Turnover Ratio (A/T)
Personal Fouls (PF)
Times Fouled Out (DISQ)
Technical Fouls (TECH)
Ejections (EJCT)
Flagrant Fouls (FF)

Re: Fantasy basketball

Also, don't know if anyone else saw this. I think we are fine with 4 bench players but if anyone wants to add one let me know.

League Notes:
• The NBA has announced that it will no longer utilize an Injured List (IL). As a result, the IL option has been removed from the fantasy game. If you wish to replace an injured player in your starting lineup, you must either place him on your bench or drop him to waivers.

Re: Fantasy basketball

I was going to say, it will be pretty much pointless to play if we don't fill the entire league. I've played in small fantasy leagues before and it sucks.

We gotta get 10. If I can find anyone I'll direct them, but none of my friends follow NBA so...the only real reason I do now is to watch the Cavs and LeBron. He and now their team is real fun to watch.

I understand what you are saying. We are still only at 6. If anyone knows anybody to join go for it, I may have a few options as well. We should be able to get to 10.
